Butler’s Orchard is a local farm that has been around for more than 50 years. The farm started with only 37 acres of land, and today has grown to more than 300 acres total. Butler’s Orchard is one of the few farms in the area that allows you to pick your own produce. Throughout the growing season you can pick strawberries, blueberries, cherries, flowers, blackberries, and veggies. The market store out front sells a lot of produce and local products.
My favorite time to go is in the late summer and autumn months during the apple picking season. The market store sells apples, but if you want to pick your own, you can go to waters orchard nearby (check the picking schedule before you go!).
Butler’s Orchard has different festivals throughout the year. Every Autumn the farm holds a pumpkin festival with hay rides, animals, and pumpkin picking. There are many activities for kids including pony rides, slides, and a corn maze. The festival also has good food and lots of desserts such as homemade apple/pumpkin pie. In the winter months, Butler’s Orchard opens for cutting your own Christmas Trees–as of 2021, you need to make an appointment to cut your own tree, or you can buy a precut one instead. The market has holiday decorations, wreathes, and more food to enjoy. Butler’s Orchard is popular throughout the year, and it’s one of my favorite local farms.
