If you are looking for nice antiques, Ellicott’s Country Store is a great place to visit. Unlike most antique stores in Ellicott City, this store is organized and each of the rooms has a theme. I didn’t visit the store for the antiques. I do like wooden furniture, but I went because it is one of the most beautiful stone buildings I’ve seen. Ellicott’s Country Store is very old, but I think even the hardwood floors are still original. There are four floors, and each of the first three floors has a fireplace. One hundred years ago, this building was probably a mansion. My only beef is that the staircases could fit in a closet and the stairs get very narrow. They are nice stairs and all, but I have big feet! Other than that, Ellicott’s Country Store is a good place to visit for its history. There are also good views of the city from the windows.
