Every winter the Gaylord National Convention Center hosts the ICE! event at the National Harbor. The main attractions are the ice sculptures made from more than 2 million pounds of ice. All of the ice sculptures are kept inside of a tent at a temperature of nine degrees Fahrenheit, so dress warm! If you visit at night you will also get to experience snow.
This year all of the sculptures showed scenes from the Madagascar Christmas movie. From the pictures it might look like the ice is painted, but the ice was actually frozen with dyes to make it that color. My favorite part of the whole attraction was the ice slide. Even adults had fun going down the slide. The attraction also includes train rides and ice skating for kids. After visiting the ice sculptures there is plenty to do including many quality restaurants.
