In The Street is a festival held every year in Frederick. The festival draws crowds of about 50,000 people to a mile of North Market Street. Local schools exhibit their different classes and activities. Local businesses show off their products and services. The fire companies display the different lifesaving equipment in their firetrucks. Hiking groups, biking groups, and even Ravens fans have exhibits and brochures for anyone interested in joining their activities. Local artisans also have their crafts on display all over town.
In The Street has a lot of entertainment. There are more than five bands playing at any given time, including a band from the Frederick Rock School. You can rent kayaks and paddle boats to go up and down Carroll Creek. Kids can have fun playing basketball, jumping in the moon bounce, and climbing up the rock-climbing wall. For adults, the festival has a beer garden with a live band.
