Lake Elkhorn is the biggest lake in Columbia, MD. It is one of the most popular parks in the area because it has a nice two mile path around the entirety of the reservoir.
Whether walking, dogwalking, or running, Lake Elkhorn is a great park to visit. Along the path you will pass picnic areas, a pavilion, a dam, and a playground. On either ends of the lake, the path is connected to the Columbia trails and can lead to both Wilde Lake and Centennial Lake for a much longer trip.
There is parking on Broken Land Parkway that fills up quickly. Additionally, there is a parking lot and ample street parking on Cradlerock Way opposite of McDonalds.
