Buddy Attick Lake Park was created to commemorate Albert “Buddy” Attick, the first police officer and the first director of Public Works for the city of Greenbelt. Buddy Attick Lake Park contains Greenbelt Lake, which is a manmade lake that was constructed as part of the New Deal programs during the Great Depression.
Buddy Attick Lake Park is located on Kenilworth Avenue, just north of Greenbelt Park. There is a gravel trail around the lake which branches off to other historic areas of Greenbelt. The trail starts near the parking area and picnic area. The park is a great spot for picnics, birdwatching, and a peaceful weekend stroll.
More information about the park and picnic reservations can be found on the Greenbelt website.
