Middle River is located in Baltimore County, Maryland. Much of the town was built to support workers of the Martin Aerospace Company during the 1930s and 1940s. During World War II, the area was known as “Little Appalachia” due to the migrants settling in the area from the mountains. Middle River is now home to the Martin State Airport.
